Is that a word? With last week being kind of crazy, I feel like maybe I got caught up in a funk. I didn't want to forget all the fun we had too! Last Monday, after the girls got home from school, we hopped on our bikes, leashed up the dog and went and grabbed Caroline. We went on a nice long bike ride. As we were riding along, I couldn't help but notice how lovely it was outside! The temps were just right, the "fall" leaves have almost all come down, and it smelled so good! I realized that it smells like Utah in October. Just that fresh, leafy, crisp smell. You know what I mean. We stopped at the park at the girls played a game of "hot lava" and then we all headed home for a nice hot dinner and games of Ticket to Ride and Apples to Apples. One of those perfect days!
I was happy to go spend a few hours volunteering at the girls school on Friday. I always have fun spending time in their classrooms. And of course that night we had the Suns game. But something else happened that night. Sammy was officially off her crutches. Yay! She learned that being injured is really not that much fun. Megan spent the night at her friends on Friday, and ended up staying over there until Saturday night. So we had Sarah and Nico over for most of the day and they all played so good! Once Nate got home from work, we headed outside to get some yard work done. It looks really good! AND, I was out there in my shorts! (That is for the Utahns) So if you are up there freezing, come and visit! Then we sat out front on lawn chairs and watched the little ones play.
On Sunday, Tina (R.S. president) came over and asked me if I would like to be part of the Enrichment Committee. Of course! She said it is a good way for me to still serve in primary, but be involved in R.S. I couldn't agree more. I'm looking forward to it. Lizzy, it looks like we will be partners in crime! And also, Nate was called to be part of the Elders Quorm Presidency. I'm excited for this new opportunity for him. When they set him apart, Jared gave him a blessing, and it hit on some of the concerns that we have been having lately. I was so thankful to know of the Lords care and love for us. That being said.....I am now flying solo with my primary class. I teach 9 "spunky" and "excited" six year olds. When I told the kids that Brother Woodard wouldn't be in our class anymore, one little boy said, "now no one can take us out in the hall when we are loud!" Umm, yeah. That's right. So wish me luck! I do love my class, I just hope I can cope.
So this has been a long drawn out blog. Thanks for sticking with me!

More like no one to make the kids eat crayons! Are they calling someone else to help you?
Congratulations to you and Nate on your new callings. I know you both will do great. Glad Sammy is off her crunches.
I hope you are enjoying the weather. We received 2 feet of snow today and its still snowing.
I love randomness! it's what makes up daily life. awesome mom for the bike ride and game playing! whoohoo! and yay for no crutches! and ha love the shorts for yard work. i was kind of cold that day but you are conditioned for way colder weather. so whoohoO! love AZ winters! Have a great Monday!
Yeah to Sammy for being off the crutches. By the way do you have to brag about the shorts? I am freezing here in Utah and just got done shoveling the snow that fell last night! Enjoy the great weather we are just jealous.
That's crazy you'll be flying solo in primary. I saw you that one day with I think all 9 of the kids there and thought what a huge class that was. When I subbed for them, they were so good. (But I only had 4 of them that day!) And fun you get to help with enrichments. (That means you'll be going to them all, yea!!:)
