The New Year

We had a good time on New Years Eve. Our friends Samantha and John invited us over to celebrate with some of their friends. Everyone brought their kids, which was nice. My kids had a blast! We played darts and poker, ate a ton of food, and they had a fire going in the backyard, so we sat out there and talked and roasted marshmallows. And we ate. There was so much food!
The next day we all slept in at our house, then my kids headed back to Samantha's house. They came back to our house about 4:00. I was cracking up, because this is what they did at our house....

So it is a whole new year. Resolutions and all that. I am not a big resolution setter. Probably because I am so perfect. Ha ha. No, I've been thinking about it. I loved Cara's word of the year last year. THINK. I've been trying to come up with a good word to wrap my year around. I think I have it. DO. I really want to DO more this year. I want to do more to be a better wife and mother and everything that comes with those labels. I want to do more to be a better friend and neighbor. I want to do more to be a better primary teacher and latter day saint. I want to break out of my comfort zone and DO more! I feel like I have been in a really comfortable place, and I need to do more to experience life. So, I will cut out the excuses and just DO. Kind of vague, but I think it will have a big impact on my life. I've always played it safe. And that is just who I am, but I need expand.
I hope you all had a great holiday. I hope we all have a wonderful year filled with great expectations, but not unreasonable ones. We all deserve to have happiness. How is that for a resoultion? Pick happiness!

Thanks for the great idea. I love DO and I would copy you but I think that Simplify will have to do for me. I need to not over think and just simplify.
