Science Sam

The elementary school hosted a science fair this year. You didn't have to participate,it was just for fun. Sam wanted to participate. At first she wanted to do a volcano. But I did a little digging and realized she thought it would be cool to have it erupt, she wasn't too interested in Earth Science. So then we thought we would do an earthworm farm. Compost and organic gardening. But wouldn't you know? The particular type of worm you need isn't anywhere to be found in the Phoenix area, I guess it is too hot here. So Nate and Sam went to plan C. The life cycle of the meal worm. The larva, pupa, beetle and then some additional eggs to start over! Yay!
She worked hard on it. Especially since she had a whole week to do it.She had a lot of traffic, everyone liked seeing all the bugs. And she got an award! She looked at it that night and didn't say anything, so I just let it go...but is it too much to ask that her name be spelled right on her certificate? (It took her 3 weeks to notice.) She drew this cute picture for the poster. Nice living room set!
Way to go Sam!
(And if anyone has need for beetles, I have about 50 sitting in the guest room)

Debra strikes again

Have I mentioned how sick and twisted we are? We decided to put Megan's dresser on craigslist. It was a dresser with an attached mirror. Nate got it moved outside and was taking pictures to post. I hear him call my name, he needs my help outside, can I come out? So I open the door to the garage and I am instantly blind and hit in the face. Funny man took the mirror, angled it just right so the sun reflected into the doorway AND took Debra, tied her up with the dog leash and dangled her in the doorway. Nice.

As I'm trying to get my pupils back to normal size I can hear Nate and Sam laughing their tails off. There was only one thing to do....play the same joke on Megan :)
