AMAZING DAY!

About a week and a half ago, everyone at work received an email. Thursday the 19th, office meeting, we are going to discuss new policies and procedures. To make it nice, Dr. H is going to take us to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and then we will come back to the office to go over all the new information. Don't be late.
Well, I hate emails like this. They make me very nervous. I didn't know what was going on. No one did. We were all nervous.
Nate told me, well, whatever it is, you get lunch out of it!
So we all get to lunch and Dr. H shows up with his wife. The intrigue increases....but we all enjoy a lovely lunch. Carol, our office manager decides to get the meeting started. So she starts off by telling us all what a great job we are doing and we are all a really important part of the office and this lunch was a thank you for all of our hard work! Whew! And then she hands out cards to all of us. And then a piece of paper, and a gift bag. And this is what the paper states:

Thanks a Million!
Here are the Rules!
1. You can only spend the money on you! No one else!
2. We get to keep all the receipts!
3. You only have until 3:30 to shop and spend all your money!
4. Meet back at the Cheesecake Factory for some dessert, laughs, and to show off what you bought!
5. Have fun!
Dr. Hunsaker
And in the gift bags were gift certificates for ALL of us for $200 each! Wahoo! Can you believe it??? Oh my goodness, it was so much fun! I got jeans, shirts, a new purse and some shoes! I seriously thought I was running a fever all day, but I'm sure it was just the excitement.
You know, I've been really happy at my job. And I'm very grateful to have my job, especially in this economy. I love everyone I work with and I work for a great Dr. Obviously :)

First Day of School

Once again, we started a new school year. This one was different. This year I had kids at two schools. And I found that to be very distressing. I like knowing that they are there for each other. And I don't like the fact that I have a daughter old enough for Junior High. But, what do you do. I managed to drop Megan off with no tears. I teared up driving over there, and I teared up when she got out of the car, but made sure she didn't see. Then I teared up when Sammy went in. I always have the hardest time when they leave on the first day and then I'm fine. And BTW, Sammy is now Sami.

What I REALLY needed to concentrate on was how grateful I was that they were able to go to school! The Friday before Megan started in on a horrific stomach virus. The poor thing was soooo sick. Up all night throwing up. She lost 9 pounds in one day. OHMYGOODNESS! And of course it took her quite a few days to recover. School didn't start until Wednesday, so we were glad she was able to work it out of her system by the time it started. However, Monday night, poor Sammy was throwing up. Luckily she was done by the morning, she didn't seem to get it as bad as Megan. These kids of mine love school. Sammy was rolling around that rolly backpack of hers for weeks before school started. Good thing we have short summer breaks here! And so far so good! School is going great for both of them, Megan seems to have transitioned just fine. I do think they miss each other though...the other day after school they both came to me and asked if they could go do something, just the two of them. I took them over to the mall for a few hours so they could enjoy their sisterhood.

My Brithday

The night before my birthday, the girls stayed up late and decorated the house! So cute, streamers, crepe paper flowers and lots of signs. Including one that wished me a happy brithday. Happy indeed.

Sammy gave me my favorite ice cream:)

And she painted me a new beating stick. I beat because I love.

(I'm kidding, I swear)

And Megan gave me a case of nectar

And at work I've been introduced to Nothing Bundt Cake. Oh my goodness. So Nate got me a whole menagerie. Yummy!

Plus I got the new Simple Shoes that I've been wanting!

Not too shabby! Thanks to all my friends and family for the gifts, phone calls and kind words. It was a fabulous day!
