Shabby Apple
I finally discovered Shabby Apple. And they have Fit to Flatter, you answer three simple questions and they pull up clothes that fit your body. Since I am crap at shopping, this is right up my alley. I love the Jackie-O. And these. Ahhh. I would be 6 foot 2 inches tall in these, but I love them.

So True
INTERESTING STUDY by UCLA Medical Research
A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry has revealed that the kind of face a woman finds attractive on a man can differ depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle. For example: If she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with rugged and masculine features. However, if she is pre-menstrual or menopausal, she tends to be more attracted to a man with duct tape over his mouth and a spear lodged in his forehead while he is on fire.
No further studies are expected.

Surviving the Heat
Somehow my kids decided to have a yard sale last Saturday. They did all the work, so whatever. Why not sell some crap and have some spending money? It was slow going at first, I thought the grandmas would have to fly down from Utah to spend some money ;) but it picked up. Megan ended up with $14 and Sammy made $8. They were both happy as could be. And get this! We still have stuff to sell the next time! WooHoo!
We were pretty hot and wilted afterwards, so we hit the pool over at Basha High. Love cooling off for $3!!!

Making the Bed
Yesterday I found my bedroom floor. It's been missing for some time now. When Nate got home from work he found me laying on our floor playing on the computer. Because I could. I've had laundry everywhere. I have literally been doing laundry non-stop since our camping trip. So many blankets. So I have had piles of clean and dirty laundry everywhere. But yesterday I made some serious progress. And in the process of cleaning my room, I changed my sheets and made the bed. I'm not a big advocate of making the bed. In the morning I can barely get myself out of the thing and get myself ready for the day, let alone make my bed look pretty. But last night as Nate and I went to bed, I realized just how good a freshly made bed feels. I should do this more often! (On the rare day I do make my bed, I just can't fight the nap and then I mess it up again, so really, I'm just saving myself a step) Growing up, my mom made her bed every day. Without fail. The only times I haven't seen her bed made were on Black Friday and it was three in the morning and my dad was still in it. And as soon as we were done shopping, she would come home and make it. I think she's on to something...
So, will I make it today?

Mission Accomplished
Last November I started on a new path. Today, I reached the end of that path and have many more directions that I can take. I finished my externship today. No more school, no more working for free. It hasn't been a long journey, for sure, but I am so happy that I did it. The office I was externing at has offered me a part time job and I accepted it. I truly love the office I have been at. They were so sweet, they bought me my first set of scrubs as a congrats gift! And they don't say Pima Medical Institute on them. Yay! Now I need to work on getting a few state certifications and I am set!

Mesa Temple
While my niece Shannae was here, I wanted to make sure that I took her over to the Mesa Temple. It is so beautiful and unique, quite unlike the other temples. I'm often surprised at how tiny it is! And Megan was thrilled to discover that it was dedicated on her birthday, many years ago.
Now...I may go you know where for saying this...but I could NOT imagine being a missionary at the temple. How boring would that be? I had three sister missionaries pounce on me wherever I went and tried to get names out of me. I'm sure they will be very blessed and I am glad they are willing to serve. Allrighty.
Escape to Pine Mountain
A week and a half ago our friend Kyle invited us up to his parent's cabin in Pine. Seeing how the heat is OBSCENE here and it is waaaay up in the mountains, how could we possible say no? And this is what we found when we got there.

Can I just tell you how Heavenly it felt? Kyle's parents were so welcoming, we had a lovely time. Since Kyle's entire family is in California for the month, I'm pretty sure he was lacking attention at his house. Every time I tried to get a picture of the kids....well

The best part of the cabin? The very cool staircase that opens up from the ceiling and leads up to the loft. Luckily no one pulled a Clark Griswald and it came down just fine. My kids had a great time going up and down, up and down. Easily entertained.
The Dana's have quads up there and we had fun going out on those.

This weekend was also a Harry Potter marathon that we watched late into the night. The girls informed me that they want us to get a cabin, quads, and a Phoenix. I pity their poor husbands ;) It was so nice to sit out on the porch and read and visit. This was a weekend that we all needed and it was so fun to get away. I really think the heat is eating away at our sanity. Thanks to all the Dana's for the great weekend!

Writers Block

I do believe it is over. After several weeks of deep thoughts, fear of change, anxiety, heat oppression, Diana has been gone allllll month, and one minor breakdown, (okay, it was major) my mind is starting to flow...I have two days left of my externship and Shannae is leaving tomorrow. School starts for my little ladies in a couple of weeks. Where did the summer go?
