Monday Musings

Loving the cooler weather! Love love love it! I feel like we can all breathe easier when it is like this.
I had to take Megan in to the doctor today for a well check up and vaccinations. It turns out that the shots I took her in for, she can't have until she turns 11. But she was lucky enough to get the chicken pox vaccine. She cried and shook but I think she may have been embarrassed to admit that it wasn't as bad as she anticipated. I came home to see that Nate was doing all the yard work. Yipee! Looks good.
We watched some Tom and Jerry as a family today. Nate and I were giggling through it, perhaps you have to be our age to appreciate it. Then I snuck off and had a nice nap!
The girls had friends over today and then Megan went over to her friends house and Sammy stayed here with her friend. Nate was finally able to break out the Bocce Ball set that he got for Fathers Day. He completely dominated, I can see that I will need to practice while he is at work so I can take him next week.
We sent the girls to bed early tonight since they were bickering today. Trying to teach them a lesson. About 10:30 we hear the beeping sound that the house makes when the door to the garage opens. Nate and I look at each other with big eyes and pounding hearts. Then the dog barks. So Nate jumps up to check things out and finds that Sammy is sleep walking. I had the dryer on and I guess it was bugging her since her room is right there. She told Nate she was trying to make it "smaller". Nate steered her back to bed and she stayed there for the rest of the night. Thank heaven for the beeping door, who knows where she would be!

oh my ! that is scary! way to go catching her before she left. yikes!

whoohoo on yardwork done by Nate! that is awesome! and the weather has been FABULOUS! love it.

yay for playdates. and nice thought on early bedtime for bickering. last week all my kids were grounded for fighting all the time. no sleepovers, no play dates. i figure they don't need friends if they can't get along with eachother. they have been much nicer.

Sounds a little like me!

I have an avid sleepwalker, and know how scary that can be! Hooray for husbands with a day off and an agenda! I am sure that was appreciated!

Great! Sleepwalking must run in both sides of our family. Kaylee is pretty bad, but my Grandma is the worst! She ended up in her neighbor's kitchen one time... back in the day when your closest neighbor was miles away!

It was great to visit today. We must do it again sometime!

Scary sleepwalker! Good thing you hadn't gone to bed yet yourselves. Once when I was little I slept walked down stairs out the front door and was knocking on the back door--wierd.

p.s. I sympathize with you on the bickering thing. We've been seeing that bug around here lately, too. How many more weeks until school starts?!

Wow! That is scary about the sleepwalking. I agree this summer has been rougher than most with bickering. I've been making my kids work more and the fighting has decreased (a little bit).

Anthony used to be a sleepwalker and it scared the crap out of me when I would hear him at night. Always got my heart racing!
