This week is flying by! I just realized that I have tomorrow only to finish my laundry, go to work, run by UPS and pack for three of us. Friday morn we will be heading to Salt Lake!
Monday Sammy wasn't feeling well. She had complained of pain when she used the bathroom so I took her to the doctor. The lovely task of peeing in a cup was done and they found some germs. Now it was time to beg, plead, bribe, cry, yell and pull my hair out to get her to take the antibiotic. We got one dose in on Monday.
Tuesday. No medicine taken. I called the doctors office and pled my case. They told me to mix it with chocolate syrup and Sam was thrilled. Yet she still wouldn't take it.
Wednesday. Call from the doctor saying Just Kidding, no bladder infection and you can stop with the meds. BUT, we did find some sugar in her urine, could you bring her in for another urine and blood sample? Blood sample?!? My heart drops to the floor. I think I know what that involves. Lots of screaming, kicking and punching. And I was right. It took three of us to hold her down but we got it! Luckily her glucose levels were good.
On Tuesday afternoon Megan was playing at her friend's house so Sammy and I headed to Target to buy the chocolate sauce for her medicine. She brought her money this time and got the glasses she wanted last week. She claims that they were a great help in class today:) Kind of like Dumbo's feather? As always, I am amazed how my kids react with one on one time. We had fun and I got her to open up and talk about stuff that she won't say at home. By the end of our excursion she was holding my hand. AWWWWWW.
Tuesday was my first day at my new job with Hallmark. I like the job because it has a lot of flexibility and the hours are perfect. However, you could probably guess that it isn't the most exciting job in the world. I think it will be a good opportunity for me and I get a 50% discount will Hallmark. I haven't told Megan yet, I can only imagine how many WebKinz she will accumulate. I didn't work today and go back tomorrow.
Megan had a fun science project in mind last night. She called it OObleck. You combine cornstarch and water and when you hold it tight in your fist it is a wad, but when you relax your hand it turns runny. Pretty cool. I'm pretty sure the main component of cornstarch is bleach. I spent a good deal of my morning scrubbing and re scrubbing my tile and grout, the sink, tabletop and fridge. That's what I get for being the nice mom:) I did have Megan get out of bed last night to clean it up again, but it was still there this morning! So if it isn't bleach, perhaps some sort of cement compound.
Today was Lunch Bunch at the Farmhouse Grill. I think it is great that our ward does this once a month. It's fun to see who comes out and a great way to talk to new people. And the food is always fun too.
My brother sent me the 10 day forecast for Salt Lake today. I can just hear his evil laughter from 800 miles away. We are talking low 40's and 50's. My kids have nothing to wear! I hate to buy a ton of winter clothes for them to wear for just one week. Perhaps some thick tights for under their shorts? Time to get out the winter clothes bin and see if the coats still fit.
I'm looking forward to seeing our families and friends. I have plans to meet with many friends and can't wait to see you all!
