Ahhhhh..Lovely Fall Weather

The snow has gone by the wayside, and the beautiful fall weather that I know and love is here. Crisp, clear and cool. It is gorgeous here in the valley and I'm so glad I am here. Even though today I was walking across my dad's lawn and I almost broke my ankle when I stepped on a huge acorn.

Yesterday my mom and I had a great day of marathon shopping. My kids did really good as long as we were eating. Or riding the Merry Go Round. Or shopping at the Hello Kitty store. They didn't care too much for the other stuff. I got killer jeans at Old Navy, The Flirt. They are so long that I step on the bottom of the legs when I walk. That never happens to me. Oh happy day! We took the kiddos home to grandpa and then we were off again, just the two of us. TaiPan. Ahhhhhh. So much to take in. I was so overwhelmed that I didn't buy anything, besides a hot chocolate. We'll have to go back when my brain can handle it.

Today I had brunch with two great ladies. Sarah and Alicia were my best friends in high school. They both moved away after getting married and both moved back to Utah the summer I moved to Arizona. Bad planning. We had a lot of fun. Our waitress was.....interesting. She seemed to have a hard time taking our picture and lowered the camera right as it flashed. That is why none of us have tops to our heads. :)

I wish we could get together more often. Perhaps the two of them could come down and have a girls weekend? HINT HINT! Much more fun to have a weekend in winter in Phoenix than it is in Salt Lake.

Megan and Sammy were invited over to their cousin, Kaylee's house for book club today. They had fun playing outside all day and I could hardly get them to leave. Jeff and his family were harvesting their pumpkins when I got there and they have one that is huge! Jeff and Brit could hardly carry it together. There was almost a tragedy, but it was averted.

I was going to head to Moab with the girls and my brothers on Friday, but started not feeling very comfortable with the idea last night. The road from Moab to Phoenix is very long and deserted and being by myself with my kids just wasn't sitting right. The only problem was breaking the news to my kids. Surprise surprise surprise, Sammy took the news very well. I almost wrecked my car in shock. Megan had some tears. I know they are disappointed, but I believe you need to go with your gut. So we will stay here an extra day.

Tomorrow we are taking in the Witches at Gardner Village. So excited! I need to stay busy. As I go through my family's blogs I see pictures of Nate and start missing him!

I think your dad has the biggest acorns in the region! Kaylee thinks he could win a ribbon at the County Fair with one of those monsters!

I'm glad Meg and Sam could spend some time at our place this trip. They were good girls and even helped me pack the trailer for this weekend :)

And to Alicia's comment... I have that same anxiety about leaving my kids. I tell myself I only have 7 more years till my youngest is 18, then I can travel without them.
