Weeds

We got a lot of rain here during the month of December. Rain=weeds in rocks. Many, many weeds. Not wanting to get a letter from the HOA, Nate came up with the idea that we should each pick 30 weeds a day. 4 x 30 = 120 weeds a day. A week or so, the yard will look great, right? (If the root isn't attached, it doesn't count)
After school today I told the girls that they couldn't play or watch tv until the weeds were done. It literally takes 2 minutes. Sam was on the phone and Megan and I went out and did ours. I then asked Sam to do hers and offered to go out and do 30 more while she was out there. Nice, right? Well, I don't know if you know this, but weeds are stupid. Stupid and retarded. And dumb. And she doesn't like to do it. It took 35 minutes to get her to do it, but I WON! I won the battle! And she did it. Grudgingly, sure, but she did it! I can't wait for tomorrow after school when we have to do it again:)
I guess a bonus of all of this was for Diana since she got to witness me wrestling my daughter all over the front yard and chasing her round and round the car. I'm always good for a giggle.
Here is a little patch of love in our front yard. I understand why she hates it, I just wish she could accept it.

It's weird your HOA would balk at some luscious green lettuce looking plants and find no issue with that crap that passes for lawn around here!

Wouldn't it be easier to use Round-up?
And I am in total agreement with Sam: weeds are retarded and stupid.
