Friday night and the end of another busy week. School continues to go well. In this particular sequence, we are doing a lot of hands on lab work instead of book work. It is a nice change of pace. Especially since I haven't had homework for two days. This week I assisted in doing a composite filling on "Dexter". I also learned how to do a dental dam. If you have had a root canal, you'll know what I'm talking about. I was nervous about this exercise, but it turned out to be a lot simpler than I thought. Today I learned how to put a matrix band on a molar using a Tofflemire. Still with me? Nerd alert! We are also practicing sucking each others spit. This is a lot more complicated than I ever imagined. I sucked up my friends tongue and then it was my turn to be a guinea pig. I haven't looked, but I think I may have a hickey on the inside of my cheek. When you catch someone in the HVE (sucker), you should turn the power off. This particular person today didn't turn off the power. She filled my mouth with water, sucked up my cheek, and then practically amputated my cheek trying to disconnect. Good times! Didn't realize we would have to practice on each other. I also used this lab time to show off my supernumerary. The class was very fascinated.
Due to a family emergency, I've been helping my friends the Danas with some babysitting. And for some reason, they still ask me to help even though I have proved that I'm not really qualified. Heehee. I'm kidding. I was in the process of changing Jack's diaper when he gave me a little tinkly surprise. Not very nice. I had always heard you should keep boys covered up, but only producing daughters, I just didn't mentally prepare myself. The next afternoon I was watching the kids and before I know it, Ally comes out covered in yellow goo. "Look Jenifer! Eggs!" she happily announces. OH NO! She had taken an egg into her parents room and played with it in the carpet. If anyone knows a good way to get egg out of carpet, let me know. I scrubbed and scrubbed, but I'm sure the carpet is still a disaster. Sorry guys! I'm still happy to help if they will have me back ;)
I'm looking forward to the weekend. No plans, perhaps I'll take Megan shopping for her big trip coming up. She is going on an oceanography trip in a couple of weeks. All by herself! They are going to San Diego where they will go out in a glass bottom boat, throw out some nets and catch wildlife. Then they will head out to open water to go whale watching. After that, Sea World! The next day they head up to Los Angeles to go to an aquarium there. It sounds like a lot of fun. I'm sure she will be fine, I hope I will be!

My kids would love you for a sitter!!!! sounds like a fun trip. Our field trips consist of a 2 hour bus ride to a petting zoo. whooo hooo!!!! :)
Sounds like you need a "wee-wee" teepee for next time you babysit Jack. I'm glad school is going well. I miss you, we should have a girls night soon!
What's a supernumerary!? I want to be in on the nerdy lingo!
Is Megan going with classmates?
Ummm... the only time I've seen the word supernumerary used was in a discussion on nipples. My guess it that you were talking about teeth though? It WAS teeth, right?
Tell Meg to have fun and I'm very jealous!
My teeth hurt just reading about your schooling. Glad everything is going ok. Hope Megan has a fun trip.
Okay, my supernumerary is NOT a nipple. It is an extra tooth.
I would e-mail the Queen of Clean for the egg solution. She will know for sure! I would leave my children with you if that makes you feel better! And yes....I have to admit I DO think you are on the road to nerdville with all that lingo I have no idea about. BUT......I'm so proud of your nerd-like qualities! (grin)
I did read the defintiion that you so conveniently provided a link to... and probably because it's 2:00am, I still didn't get it. By the way, remind me not to ask Kim about that nipple next time we're all together. Ew.
Also, thank you for babysitting. Glad you could have such exciting adventures with the Dana children. Who needs vacations?
you have a supernumerary? cool!
ah the wonders of small children.eggs on the carpet. for future reference ,i would try folex carpet cleaner. it comes in a spray from Home depot or target. works great for all protein based stains.
it's enzyme based so it doesn't leave a soap residue that would resurface later over and over.
little boys are SO fun! now you know why! hee hee a little shower!
Oh and that is awesome for Megan!
that is the awesome-est trip. she's going with ELP right? or whatever they call it in your school district. SO COOL!
our ELP teacher just eliminated that Field trip! and part of the curriculum. it's totally LAME!
don't ever say root canal to me again!!! (can you tell i've had 2 within 7 months of eachother?)
only having a little girl, too, isn't it really wierd changing a boy's diaper? i didn't know what i should & shouldn't be wiping.
just add a little bit of heat to that egg, scramble it, & then bring in the dogs! (is that helpful?)
