We had a few hours to kill after we checked out of the hotel. May as well check out the beach! We drove about half an hour until we found what we were looking for. The weather was magnificent! Not too hot. I have a feeling that when Megan gets older she will be settling near the ocean. She seems to be drawn to it. Nate, Sammy and I were up on the towels when I looked toward the water and saw Megan skipping through the waves. She is in heaven at the beach! The waves were nice and big so we, (I mean, everyone but me) could do some body surfing. We even saw dolphins playing in the waves! Poor Nate was the most meticulous in putting on the sunblock, but it must have washed away in the salt water. He looks like a lobster! And you would think by now that I would know how to put sunblock on myself. I'm all splotchy with sunburn! At least the girls were mostly spared from the sun. We played for about three hours before hitting the road. We wanted to beat the rush hour traffic, but I'm not sure that is possible in the Los Angeles area:) The kids fell asleep almost immediately once we were in the car.
I realized when we got home that the girls hadn't been here for a month! They were thrilled with their clean rooms and their own beds! It is great to have them home.

I'm with Meg!
Home sweet home! Nothing like it!!
we use some kid's Banana Boat Sunscreen. It's 50spf and its a SPRAY... we all use it. It's great and it doesn't wash off and it really WORKS.... try that next time!
I'm Meg too!! I love the ocean and the beach!! Looks like fun!
